Noble Dancer (x Heidbergs Nancho Nova x Immenmoor Golden Future) scored a 4th place with 67% in the Open Advanced 5.2 and 3rd place in the Open Advanced 5.3 with 67.851% in a field of 20 at the Brisbane CDI.

The imported mare SPB Diva Toscana (x Dimension AT x Top Nonstop) placed a good 6th in the Open Novice 2.1 with a score of 70.648% in an open field of 20. Ridden by Amanda Shoobridge and owned by Select Pony Breeding, SPB Diva Toscana also placed 2nd in the 5 yo Young Pony Championship.

At the Sydney Dressage Club competition FS Carry Gold (x FS Coco Jambo x FS Dacapo Doro) won the Pony Medium 4.3 and outscored all of the open horses in this test with 65.946%.

In an open class of 7 for the Intermediate I, Cheval de Luxe (x FS Champion de Luxe x Dressman I) won against the horses with 69.934%.

Daisy's Davina (x Bodyguard x Heidbergs Nancho Nova) won the Pony Preliminary 1.2 and would have placed 2nd in the open with a field of 14 with a score of 69.135%.

Winning the German Foal Championships at Lienen was the palomino filly by Socrates out of a mare by Cyriac WE with a score of 103.17. Socrates is by Veenstra's Promise, the Dutch Riding Pony sire of Triple Trees Prince Perfect here in Australia. Second place with 100.50 was the colt foal by Kachunga out of a mare by Charm of Nibelungen. Third was awarded to a filly by A New Star I out of a Voyage mare on 99.83.

First place in the Elite Mare Championship was awarded to Diva de Luxe (x Driedimensional AT x Top Gun 1). Second place to Reitlands Feine Deern (x High Flow's Oxford x Stukhuster Ricardo Go For Gold). High Flow's Oxford, another Dutch Riding Pony stallion is by Bodo, the sire of 3 ponies selected on teams for the FEI European Pony Championships. Third to Caramba KE (x Cosmopolitan D x Cappuccino).

At the Swedish Young Dressage Pony Championships, the 2016 Bundeschampionate 3 yo Riding Pony Mare/Gelding Gold Medal winner Camino Royal (x FS Cracker Jack x Courage) won the 4 yo Young Pony Championship. Camino Royal was sold to Sweden following the German Championship last year. 12 ponies competed in 2 rounds to determine the winner.

In the 5 yo Championship, the Swedish part welsh stallion Taxman (x Weltman x Lodor Tywysog Nudd) was the winner from a field of 12.

Germany has won the Gold Medal in the CDIOP Nations Cup at Hagen with Denmark in Silver and Great Britain winning the Bronze Medal. Winning the Team test was the 2016 European Champion Zinq Massimiliano FH.

Germany has taken out the top 4 placings in the Future Champions CDIP Team test at Hagen (Ger). Winning the test was Drink Pink (x FS Don't Worry x FS Golden Highlight). Placing a very good equal 5th was Denmark's Prince of Glory who is by Triple Trees Prince Perfect who stands at stud here in Australia.

At the CDIP Compeigne (Fra), both Dutch and British FEI Pony riders had a good run leading up to the FEI European Pony Championships to be held in Hungary in July.

In the FEI Pony Team Test, the Dutch welsh bred gelding Reedborder Amazing (x Bodo x Bokkesprong Czardas) had a narrow win with 71.795% over Britain's SL Lucci (x Lukas x Bazar) on 71.752%. SL Lucci was the 2015 FEI European Pony Champion and this is his 2nd CDIP competition with new rider Anya Kolleth.

Reedborder Amazing also won the Individual Pony Test with 71.016% with the Danish Sports Pony mare Kentris Afrodite (x Rogilds Kilimanjaro x Mufaq) placing 2nd with 70.976%.

The FEI Pony freestyle was won by Britain's SL Lucci with another British pony taking 2nd place, Valido's Starlight (x Valido x Capri Moon).

At the CDIP Aalborg (Den), the top Danish pony Vegelin's Goya (x Verona's Bo-Gi x Leunsveld's Darling Boy) won all 3 tests achieving personal best scores in each test.

The 'Pries de Besten' (Prize of the Best) ranks equally beside the German Youth Championships and is an important event for viewing the current performances of Germany's young riders for the upcoming European Championships. Joining the ranks of Germany's top pony riders is Lucie-Anouk Baumgurtel who won the Dressage Pony Rider Final on Zinq Massimiliano FH (x Monsun N x Cap Cennedy N).
Placing 2nd was Moritz Treffinger riding Top Queen H (x Top Anthony II x Dark Rubin) with 3rd place to Julia Barbian riding Der Kleine Koenig 3 (x Dornik's Donovan x FS Don't Worry).
Winning 1st place in the Jumping Pony Rider Final was Leonie Gruber riding AMD My Midnight Lady (x Da Capo x Marsvogel xx). 2nd place to Marvin Jungel riding Mas Que Nada 4 (x Monet x Staron) and 3rd to Lisa Schultze Topphoff riding Mentos Junior 2 (x Mentos x Downland Folklore).

The annual CDIOP/CDIP event was held at Saumur (Fra) with Germany’s top FEI pony combination and the 2016 European Pony Champion, Zinq Massimiliano FH and Lucie-Anouk Baumgurtel not in attendance. Instead they competed at the new CDIP Mannheim (Ger) competition that was held on the same weekend, with all German entries plus one rider from Great Britain.

Germany won the CDIOP Nations Cup at Saumur with Der Kleine Koenig 3 in 1st, DSP De Long 3rd and Tesio 4 in 6th.

Silver in the Nations Cup was Great Britain with a solid 2nd place from Madam’s Miss Maria, Valido’s Sunshine in 5th and Valido’s Starlight in 8th with Bronze to the Netherlands with Rhyfedd Spike in 4th, Charming Foret in 7th and Bodethal’s Kosima in 10th.

Posting a second win for the Individual CDIOP Test was Germany’s Der kleine Koenig 3 with fellow team member, DSP Long in 2nd and Valido’s Starlight for Great Britain in 3rd.

The CDIOP Freestyle was won by Germany’s DSP De Long, the Netherlands in 2nd with Charming Foret and Germany in 3rd with Tesio 4.

Germany also dominated the CDIP competition with Die Feine Chanel in 1st place for the Team, Individual and Freestyle tests. Chantre 31 placed 2nd in the Team and Individual Tests. Great Britains Le Chiffre placed 3rd in the Individual and 2nd in the Freestyle with fellow team member Gigolo finishing in 3rd.

At the CDIP Mannheim Zinq Massimiliano FH won the Team test but placed 3rd in the Individual, beating herself with her second pony Don Miguel FH. The winner of the Individual was Contra.

No riders from Denmark, the 2016 European Pony Silver Team medallists attended either Saumur or Mannheim. Denmark’s CDIP will be held in Aalborg on 11-14 May.

At the Sydney CDI the imported Westfalen pony stallion Cheval de Luxe (x FS Champion de Luxe x Dressman 1) competed in the open CDN Prix St Georges test and scored 68.63% to finish a close 2nd place in a class of 20. Cheval de Luxe was ridden by Sara Price and is co-owned by Sara and Jocelyn King.

At the CCIP2* North Holland Horse Trials, the Germans reigned supreme taking out the top 8 placings in the 25 pony field. 1st place went to Askaban B (x Anton B x Freddy) ridden by Calvin Bockmann. Askaban B was the Individual Silver medallist at the 2016 FEI Pony Europeans and won Gold in 2015.

2nd place was Andante D (x Amarilly's Sensation x Desteny) competing in only his second CCIP2* event. 3rd place was the 2016 FEI Pony European Gold medallist Pearl 98 (x Potter x Mentos).

Outstanding results for GRP's were achieved at the 2017 D&JWTS (Australian Young Horse/Pony Championships) with the imported Rheinland palomino mare FS Carry Gold (x FS Coco Jambo x FS Dacapo Doro) named Champion of Champions following Nicole Wego, the guest rider taking her for a ride around the indoor at Werribee Park NEC.

FS Carry Gold won both Round 1 and Round 2 of the 6 yo Young Pony class and was ridden by NSW rider Sara Price and is owned by Jocelyn King of Kingsfield Stud. Carry Gold was bred by Ferienhof Stucker in Germany.

Highest placed GRP cross in the 4 yo final round was Delon Park Hilkens Shadow (x Hilkens Black Delight x Ascot Royal Portrait) in 3rd place. The black gelding was ridden by Shanon McKimmie and is owned by Kim Bennie. He was bred by Louise De Longis of Delon Park in Western Australia.

Champion 5 yo Young Pony was the imported GRP cross mare, Buckton Thellini (x Hilkens Denali x Shamila Greenlea Downton). Ridden by Cooper Oborn, the bay mare is owned by Georgie Ray of Brockhurst Stud in South Australia and was bred by Janna Green from New Zealand. Second place in the 5 yo's went to the imported GRP mare SPB Diva Toscana (x Dimension AT x Top Nonstop). She was ridden by Amanda Shoobridge of Revelwood Stud in NSW and is owned by Select Pony Breeding. The light chestnut mare was bred by Gerhard Neurotter of Germany.

The winner of the 2015 German Developing Rider Championship was Rocky (x Renoir x Neckar) ridden by Nele Lobbert. The Championships were created to promote the transition of young pony riders to FEI Pony level and to scout for pony riders with the potential to be included on the German Pony Team.

Dutch rider Daphne van Pepperstraten won all 3 FEI Pony tests at the CDIP Lier (Belgium) with her number 1 pony, the 8 year old mare Wonderful Girl (x Wimbledon x Arts-Dancer Boy).

In her last year as a pony rider, Germany's Nadine Krause won all 3 FEI Pony tests at the CDIP Le Mans (Fra) on her 9 year old Palomino stallion Cyrill WE (x FS Champion de Luxe x Power Man). Krause will not be selling her ponies Cyrill WE and Danilo. Instead the ponies will be allocated to German Pony Team riders for the 2016 season.

Competing at the CDIP Biarritz (Fra) with her team of ponies, Dutch pony rider Daphne van Pepperstraten won the Individual Test on her 11 yo buckskin gelding Don Camillo du Bois (x Dornik B x Edouard) and placed 2nd in the Team Test. Riding Wonderful Girl (x Wimbledon x Arts-Dancer Boy), Pepperstraten won the Team Test and the Freestyle.

At the CDIP Odense (Denmark), German pony rider Nadine Krause won all 3 tests on her 12 yo Palomino stallion Danilo 80 (x Dornik B x Power Boy). Placing 3rd in the Team test and 2nd in the Freestyle with personal best scores was 14 year old Danish rider Sophie Hansen riding Steendieks Prince of Glory (x Triple Trees Prince Perfect). Hansen began her FEI Pony career on Prince of Glory in April this year.

At the Austrian CDIP held in Vienna, Germany's Schierensees Don't Do It (x FS Don't Worry x Martel) and Raphael Netz won both the Individual (73.4 %) and Freestyle (76.292%) tests giving the 10 year old stallion his first wins at international level and career personal best scores in both tests.
The team test was won by Britain's Valido's Sunshine (x Valido x Marieton's Jasper) with a score of 73.120%. The 12 yo Rheinland mare ridden by Rebecca Bell placed 2nd in the Individual and Freestyle tests. This combination placed 13th overall at the recent European Pony Champs.

The top qualifier leading into the Bundeschampionate was HA Galileo (x FS Golden Highlight x Black Boy) who qualified equal 7th on 7.9. 11 ponies out of the 20 starters will compete in a dressage test to decide the medallists today.

Following the 9 selection trials for the KNHS Divosa Young Dressage Pony Championships, the winners of the 4, 5 and 6 yo classes were decided on August 22nd at Kootwijk, Netherlands.

56 4yo ponies, 67 5 yo's and 28 6 yo's took part in the qualifying events with the Top 20 ponies progressing to the final where after one round, the Top 5 were judged again with guest riders.

Winning the 4 yo Championship was the Dutch Riding Pony stallion Castenrayseweg's Dreamboy (x Molenhorn's Lucky Boy x Leunsveld Lord). Second place was awarded to Pippins Playboy AT, also by Molenhorn's Lucky Boy who was exported to the USA several years ago.

The 5 yo Young Pony Championship was won by Turfhorst Pippin's Pride who won the 4 yo Championship in 2014. The Dutch Riding Pony stallion is by Wengelo's Ricardo, sire of Molenhorn's Lucky Boy.

The combination scored 70.940% in the Team Test and 69.390% in the Individual Test. Finishing 2nd in both tests was the Westfalen gelding Darius (x Dressman 1 x Nils)

Currently ranked No. 1 for the A/L Series for the Ponyforum Cup for riders over 16 yo is the 12 yo Hessen gelding Gabia La Grande L (x Dressman 1 x Durello). Ranked No. 1 for the L/M Series is the Welsh Cob stallion Bennabor Lord Zandor and for the M/S Series, the 15 yo Saschsen stallion, Night Magic (x Night Dream x Trajan) is still in top spot. At the only CDIP event held outside of Europe, the USEF Dressage Festival of Champions features an FEI Pony Team and Individual Test for the USA National Pony Riders Championship. With 8 ponies qualified, the winner of the team test was the 19yo Weser Ems gelding Pablo S (x Pico x Diamant II) ridden by Allison Nemeth on personal best score of 70.940%. Second place went to the Westfalen gelding Darius (x Dressman I x Nils) ridden by McKenzie Milburn on 66.496%.

Riders and ponies have arrived at Malmo, Sweden for the 2015 FEI Pony European Championships. 18 countries with 57 riders and ponies will contest the Dressage Championship, 13 countries with 56 riders and ponies are entered for the Showjumping Championship and 12 countries with 52 riders and ponies will compete for the Eventing Championship.

The Swedish Pony Team has been announced for the FEI European Pony Championships. At the recent Swedish Pony Championships, the Gold Medal was awarded to the Danish bred pony Extrem who will lead the Swedish Team. Winning silver was the Dutch bred Roman who unfortunately could not be included in the Swedish team for the Europeans as the cut-off date for the Pony Dressage Teams had already passed. Usually waiting for the later qualifiers for the Bundeschampionat are the 3 and 4 yo ponies. At the Hannover qualifier held yesterday, 18 ponies competed in the 3 yr Mare/Gelding class with Wyonna 3 (x Heidbergs Nancho Nova) scoring 8.0. Six other ponies gained the minimum score of 7.5 or above. In the 3 yo Stallion class, Champion’s League R (x FS Cracker Jack x Oosteinds Ricky) recorded the highest score of 8.6. Six ponies out of the 10 gained 7.5 or above.
In the 4 yo Mare/Gelding class, there were 15 ponies with Reitlands One Fine Fellow (x High Flown’s Oxford x Dornik-Double) scoring 8.2 to become the highest qualifier. Ten ponies scored 7.5 or above. In the 4 yo Stallion class 5 ponies competed with 3 gaining 7.5 or higher. Scoring an impressive 8.8 to win the class was PAV Nasdaq (x Nemax x FS Don’t Worry).
Improving on his previous qualifying score, the 5 yo stallion Cosmopolitan D (x FS Champion de Luxe x Marsvogel xx) scored 8.6 in his class. The 6 yo stallion Del Estero (x Dance Star AT x Marsvogel xx) gained his first qualifying score to win his class on 8.3 making him currently the equal highest qualifier to date with Tackmann’s Donut (x Denver x FS Golden Highlight) and Timberlake SH (x Timberland x Top Karetino)

In conjunction with the World Breeding Championships for 5 & 6 yo Young Dressage Horses to be held at Verden, Germany on 5-9 August there will be a pilot project for an International Dressage Cup for 5 & 6 yo Young Ponies. The selection of Young Ponies from Germany took place on 8 July at Warendorf with the German FN allowed to select fifteen ponies from 5 and 6 yo's that have already qualified for the Bundeschampionate. Ponies from four other nations may be selected to attend Verden.

British Dressage has announced the Pony Dressage Team that will represent Great Britain at the 2015 FEI European Championships. Leading the squad is 16 yo Phoebe Peters with SL Lucci (x Lukas). Peters and Lucci will be the combination to beat having recently won the Under 21 Championship at the Hickstead Premier League Championship. The Nordic Baltic Dressage Championships (CDIOP) are now underway in Aalborg, Denmark. Winning the Team Test was the 13 yo GRP stallion Der Harlekin B (x Golden Dancer x Dornik B) for Denmark with a score of 73.077%.

Winning all GOLD at the Festival of Youth (CDIP/CDIOP) held at Hof Kasselman, Hagen, Germany was the 16 yo palomino stallion Deinhard B ridden by Semmieke Rothenberger. However, the Number 1 ranked dressage pony in the world will not be competing at the FEI European Pony Championships as Semmieke will be competing at the FEI European Junior & Young Rider Championships on the German Junior Rider team.

Cyrill WE (x FS Champion de Luxe x Power Man) at 9 years of age and in his first year at international level pony dressage achieved his highest score to date of 78.583% in the CDIOP Freestyle test, finishing just behind Deinhard B.

Mondsilber (x Monte Christo x Forge Cirrus), a grey 11 yo mare also in her first year at international level, won Bronze and two Silver Medals at Hagen.

The highest placed GRP in the Nations Cup for Jumping Ponies at the Festival of Youth was the 9 yo bay stallion, Maribo Sun (x Marinello x Alasca) achieving 7th place out of 35 ponies. The highest placed GRP in the Pony Grand Prix with jumps at a maximum of 1.35m was Magic Cornflakes (x Miraculix x Nibelungenheld) in 16th place out of 66 ponies.

The Dutch Pony Dressage Team for the FEI European Pony Championships has been announced following the final of the KNHS FEI Pony Cup as the final observation event. After winning the final, Daphne van Peperstraten and her Dutch Riding Pony stallion, Don Camillo du Bois (x Dornik B) were first named in the team. Peperstraten's reserve mount is the GRP mare Wonderful Girl (x Wimbledon x Arts-Dancer Boy) who was bred by the Rothenbergers in Germany. Eveline Bos will ride the Rheinland stallion Valentino (x Dornik-Double x Power Star B), Rianne Kooistra riding her Hannover Pony gelding Diamonds Are Forever (x Diamond x Boss) and Zoe Kuintjes will ride her Hannover Pony stallion Elin's Nonsisdador (x Nostradamus x LP Nixen).

The Norwegian Pony Dressage Team has the minimum of 3 riders with Kristiane Askim Hillern riding the Swedish Riding Pony gelding Untouchable II (x Verona's Gerswin x Urbino), June Johansen riding the New Forest gelding Grythojdens General (x Sorbys O'Boy x Burton Starlight) and Sahra Edseth Solbakken riding the Rheinland Pony stallion Valerossi (x Valido x Nadler I).

Bundeschampionate Qualifiers updated for 5 & 6 yo Dressage Ponies and Jumping Ponies. Timberlake SH (x Timberland) joins Tackmann's Donut (x Denver) as highest qualifier on 8.3 in the 6 yo Dressage Pony listing and Makuba 21 (x Machno Carwyn) improves his jumping score to 8.5 to currently be the highest qualified 6 yo Jumping Pony.

The German Pony Jumping Team have won Team Gold at the Nations Cup held at Weirden, Netherlands. With clear rounds were the Westfalen pony stallions Pico 212 (x Principal boy x Night-Star I) and Magic Cornflakes (x Miraculix x Nibelungenheld). Also in the winning team was the Holsteiner pony stallion High Dream N (x Highway N x Magnum) and the Swedish bred warmblood pony mare Nikolina (x Nicklas x Everest). Winning the Silver Medal was the French Pony Jumping Team with the host nation of the Netherlands winning Bronze. Magic Cornflakes was the Bundeschampion 5 yo Jumping Pony in 2013 and also won Gold as a 6 yo in 2014.

Semmieke Rothenberger will not be competing on her 16 yo GRP stallion Deinhard B as a member of the German Pony Team at the FEI European Pony Championships as she has declared herself a Junior Rider (riders aged 14-18 yrs). She has been listed as a member of the German Junior Team to compete at the FEI Junior/Young Rider European Championships to be held 1-5 July at Vidauban, France. Rothenberger and Deinhard B are currently Ranked No. 1 on the FEI Youth Dressage World List for Ponies. Although pony riders may also compete as juniors at CDI events in the same year, FEI rules state that no rider can compete in more than one FEI Championship (CDIO) in any one year.

Westphalian Breeder Meeting - There will be a meeting of the Westphalian Registry on the 23rd of June 2015 to discuss the German Riding Pony. As the German Riding Pony breed is of great importance to the region of Westphalia, they have decided to conduct a separate meeting to focus on the ponies as many breeder meetings in the past have had a warmblood emphasis. Issues on the agenda include, pony competitions, a jumping pony program and marketing. One of the discussions will be to review the protocols for radiographing pony stallions that are put through the licensing system.

The Spanish Pony Dressage Team has been selected for the 2015 FEI Pony European Championships. Named on the team is GRP Jockers Golden Boy (x Joker), GRP Kronprinz (x Kaiserjaeger xx), PRE Altanero (x Guason Mac) and GRP Carlo Colucci (x Constantin).

With 10 out of 24 qualifiers now completed, the 5 yo gelding Daddy Moon (x FS Daddy Cool x Capri Moon) remains the highest scoring 5 yo Dressage Pony on 8.5. The highest scoring pony in the 6 yo Dressage Pony qualifiers is still the stallion Tackmann's Donut (x Denver x FS Golden Highlight) on 8.3.

The USA based GRP gelding Pablo S (x Pico x Diamant II) is currently ranked number 1 with his rider Allison Nemeth in qualifiers for the National Championship to be held on August 19-23 at the Lamplight Equestrian Centre, Wayne, IL. Ranked number 2 is the GRP gelding Darius (x Dressman I x Nils). Riders for the Championship must be aged 12-16 yo.

Don Camillo du Bois wins the sixth and final leg of the KNHS FEI Pony Cup in the Netherlands. Ridden by Daphne van Peperstraten, the 11 yo bay stallion is registered with the NRPS and is by the German Riding Pony Dornik B. Peperstraten placed second on her 8 yo mare Wonderful Girl (x Wimbledon x Art Dancer Boy) with German bred Equestricons Valentino ridden by Eveline Bos placing third. The KNHS FEI Pony Cup Series is a vital viewing platform for selection to the Dutch Pony Team.

The Westfalen Foal and Mare shows commenced on May 25 and will be completed on July 17. Breeders and owners will present their 3 and 4 year old mares and current season foals. GRP foals that receive Premium Awards will be listed as the shows progress.
