The LVM German Foal and Mare Championship, held annually at Lienen incorporates the German Elite Mare Championships and German Foal Championships.
Breeders of both jumping and dressage horses and ponies from all breeding areas participate at qualifying events in the hope of receiving a ticket to present their foals at the final, a prestigious event for breeders and attracting many prospective buyers each year who are searching for top quality ponies to buy for their own stables. Only the top 25% rated foals will qualify for the final held in Lienen in the Tuetoburg Forest.
