Federal Stallion Show
The International Gruene Woche (Green Week) FN Bundeshengstschau (FN Federal Stallion Show) is held in Berlin once every four years with the latest event held in January, 2019. The next Green Week FN Federal Stallion Show will be held in Berlin in 2023.
65 stallions participated in 2019 and must be registered in one of the German Equestrian Federation’s (FN) connected breed associations. The pony breeds eligible to compete at this prestigious competition are the German Riding Pony, Welsh B, Welsh D, Connemara and the New Forest Pony.
All stallions must qualify for the FN Federal Stallion Show with pre-selection at regional level through the applicable breed society.
All stallions aged over five years old that compete at the Federal Stallion Show and receive a score of 8 and over are granted the title of FN Federal Premium Stallion.
Stallions can compete in breed specific classes for the German Riding Pony, New Forest Pony, Connemara and Welsh Section B and Welsh Cob Section D. Stallions in these classes must be aged between 4 and 12 years old. They are assessed in hand for their conformation, type, correctness of the limbs and paces.
They may also compete in the following Sports Pony classes :

Federal Mare Show
Similar to the FN Federal Stallion Show, the FN Federal Mare Show takes place every 4 years with pre-selection of mares taking place through FN approved regional societies. All mares that are performance tested as specified by the Breeders' Association Act (ZVO) and have received a score of 8.0 or higher in this national FN show are awarded with the FN Premium title. Breed specific classes include the German Riding Pony, New Forest Pony, Connemara, Welsh Section B and D.
Mares that compete at the FN Federal Mare shows are aged between 3 and 12 years old. The mares are assessed for their conformation, correctness of the limbs, and their paces.
